The Government of Penang will work closely with the private sector to ensure that people are still able to look for ways of living when the MCO is lifted.
In his daily address to the general public via Facebook Live on his Facebook account, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the State is aware of the difficulties the people face when the state and nation struggle against the spread of Covid-19.
He added that his office had also contacted the Penang Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and the various Chambers of Commerce in the state to seek input on how Penang's economy can be revived by the state government and the private sector.
To reduce the burden of vulnerable groups, the State Government recently increased the People’s Aid Package Package from RM20 million to RM75 million.
Besides, the Penang Continuity of Business Zero Interest loan has been allocated RM30 million to enable micro-enterprises and owners of SME in these challenging times to apply for the "renewable model."
