KUALA LUMPUR:

Air Asia Bhd's Teleport logistics arm cooperates with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA)  to help local farmers directly to distribute fresh and frozen products from the source.

The partnership is through the e-commerce platform Ourshop from Teleport.

AirAsia said Ourshop has launched the new category Ourfresh, which directly from the source offers fresh and frozen products, and guarantees delivery to the customers of Klang Valley on the next day.

It said that in an effort to provide e-commerce platform and marketing support for farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs under FAMA, Ourshop signed as a merchant in Agrobazaar Malaysia.

"Ourshop will feature products from a total of 200 farmers of various fruits, vegetables, poultry, and fish," it said in a statement.

Ourshop marketing head Grace Chin said that during the Movement Control Order (MCO) the company had seen fresh and frozen products rise, and decided to add Oursfresh to the e-commerce platform as a category.

Meanwhile, FAMA deputy general director (development) Datuk Abdul Ghariff Ramin said the partnership will provide a useful e-commerce platform that can grow and reach agro-businesses while offering customers a better value for their money.
