BALI :

The 7th annual Bali & Beyond Travel Fair has announced that the event will be postponed which is initially scheduled from 9 to 13 June to next year in June. The organizing committee, headed by Ketuk Ardana, said the show will be held from 8 to 12 June 2021 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre, in a statement sent to sponsors, partners and exhibitors.

BBTF said that the response and measures in place for the safety of Bali were a response to public health authorities.

"We need to balance public health protection and the mitigation of the socio-economic effects of this pandemic",said Ardana.

After Covid-19 spreading into Europe and the US, two markets which BBTF considers as priorities to boost Indonesian tourism, the logistics of verifying the participation of international buyers were almost impossible.

Lockdowns in Indonesia, travel ban and restrictions worldwide, including mass cuts to international airlines, make it untenable in the near future to organize trade fairs in Asia.

On the other hand, the organizer of the inaugural Malaysia Tourism & Travel Mart (MTTM) 2020 inKuala Lumpur for Singapore Conference & Exhibition Management Services announced that the event will be postponed. This mart was expected to take place from 18 to 20 June 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, at the Malaysia International Commercial & Exhibition Center (MITEC).

The statement from CEMS states that when the environment is healthy, new dates for MTTM will be confirmed.
