To save our Malayan Tiger, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) of Peninsular Malaysia and the Penang State Art Gallery will be having an exhibition called BELANG.
The objective of the program is to raise awareness and concern of the public about the need to protect the now threatened Malayan tiger for future generations.
Tourism Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said that hopes that with the pure efforts of this campaign, Malaya's tiger population will grow again.
"We hope the future generations will thank us for allowing them to see for themselves the Malaya tiger and not just through photos and paintings"he said.
The uniqueness of this exhibition is that all of the works are considered Malayan tiger-themed in various mediums.
The exhibition will take place from the first to 31st March 2020 at Penang State Art Gallery,Level 3 Gallery.
As part of the exhibition, the event will also have talks,colouring contest,face painting and live painting by artists.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the campaign fund. This is a contribution made by the Penang State Art Gallery to help in raising funds for use in the rescue and conservation work of the Malayan tiger.
Also present were Haryany Mohamad Penang State Muzium Board Director and Saat Yaakob Penang Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) of Peninsular Malaysia State Director.
