Discrimination against tourist will be punishable

HANOI :

 Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has confirmed that any discrimination committed against international visitors will be strictly punished.

On Wednesday, the order was released amid reports from media outlets around the country refusing to cover foreign citizens, showing signs of prejudice against them because of fears of coronavirus.

Recent positive cases of Vietnam seem to have risen, most of them being transported from Europe. As the outbreak of the COVID-19 outbreak in China announced, where WHO announced a new pandemic.

The government leader requested that the People's Committees of all locations take stock of all foreign visitors in their region as well as direct tourist destinations, to comply closely with the law on tourism, which does not discriminate against foreign visitors. In order to retain Vietnam's reputation as a fun, hospitality, secure and healthy place.

The higher authorities must immediately be informed of complicated cases that go beyond their control.

In compliance with the directions provided by Health authorities, the Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism the directing of localities to the prevention of, and to counter COVID-19.

The foreign ministry is tasked with devising guidelines and scenarios to avoid regretful incidents and working with countries' embassies in Vietnam in dealing with any incident to maintain the image of the country.
