Hindu devotees who attended Teluk Bahang's Maasi Magam Theppa Thirunal are advised to undergo a COVID-19 screening if symptoms arise after a 14-day incubation period.
Dr. Norlela Ariffin, Chairman of the Committee for State Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Safety, said no COVID 19 cases suspected of involving those attending this festival have so far been registered.
"Yesterday was 14 days of incubation for the participants of the festival, so I will advise you to take health screening at the nearest hospital for any of them with COVID-19 symptoms."Till yesterday the COVID-19 cases in the region, they all relate to the Sri Petaling Mosque tabligh and there was no case from Maasi Magam event", she said.
In the meantime, Norlela, who also works for the Penanti assembly, a designated lane should be created at hospitals or clinics for those who come for COVID-19 screenings, and particularly those who attended a tabligh meeting at the Sri Petaling Mosque.
The plan will be submitted tomorrow at the COVID-19 Task Force at Penang level to prevent the virus from spreading to people in hospitals or state clinics.
