Penang State level Chap Goh Meh Celebration

 The Penang 2020 Goh Meh Festival held yesterday in Esplanade, Penang, was crowned by thousands of visitors.

The event was organized by the Penang State EXCO Office for Tourism, Arts, Culture & Heritage.

The event was officiated by the Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow.

"The state government believes that this platform and medium can serve as a symbol of unifying people regardless of race and religion because in Penang we are constantly celebrating the diversity and diversity that exists," he said in his speech.

Meanwhile, State Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said initially PETACH wanted to launch Cultural Celebration with China as this year is Cultural and Tourism Year for China and Penang.

"We wanted to launch cultural celebration with China, but we couldn't because of the unpredictable virus and they had to cancel their show with us tonight and have to be postponed," he said.

The event featured a host of performances, like a display of various Chinese dances, choir recital, as well as cultural performances by the National Culture and Arts Department’s state troupe. 

Visitors, mainly comprising families, also took the opportunity to snap photographs of the dragon showcase and enjoyed the street food hawker stalls.

Hand sanitizers and face masks were provided during the event to the public.
