Spa Industry is rapidly growing in Penang and eventually contributing as a part of VisitMalaysia2020

The Ministry Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) together with Penang Spa Association( PENSPA), and the Mutiara Tour Guide Association hosted The Foot Massage Show 2019 at Beach Street today.

The State Director of the Ministry Tourism, Arts and Culture, Jonathan Freddy who officiated the event said this is to promote the spa industry in the tourism sector in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020.

"We are supporting the tourism sector's spa industry and we are also letting the tourist know that they can visit Penang and have a good massage as well," he told the press.

Penang Spa Association Chairman Liz Othaman said that nearly 300 therapists have registered under this association and the Penang spa industry is starting to grow. We are also very excited about getting more events like this to welcome the Visit Malaysia 2020 year.

Almost 60 therapists participated in this event and this is the first-foot massage show that took place in Malaysia.

Also, Muhammad Farhan, Chairman of the Mutiara Tour Guide, said this event also shows the health benefits of the Malaysian massage to visitors and would like to promote it to tourists in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020.
