THAILAND :

Thailand's emergency Decree is more likely to be extended for another month after it was initially supposed to end on Thursday.

The Cabinet decided on an emergency declaration and a curfew for the nights from 10:00 to 4:00 was still in effect a month after the expiry on April 30 as Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said. Interprovincial travel and international travel to and from the country will continue to be prohibited or restricted.

Also, the Prime Minister mentioned that the Cabinet meeting declined to postpone four public holidays in May after the Situation Administer's Center for Covid-19 proposed to postpone public vacation in May to avoid social gathering and support travel restrictions.

However, he said the authorities need to take strict screening and disease prevention steps while urging people to stay in their homes during a holiday to avoid the Covid-19 outbreak.

With regards to removing business operations constraints, Gen. Prayut stated that a Committee is reviewing information on lightening the restrictions and will make the announcement this week. In the beginning, a gradual reopening of companies is enabled into four phases, depending on the type of company.
