KUALA LUMPUR :

The domestic aviation sector will be enhanced after the completion of the Movement Control Order (MCO), Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has said.

He said the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic would make it hard to revive the country's aviation industry.

The aviation sector is the most impacted industry globally and Virgin Australia was confirmed to have gone bankrupt, he said in a talk show.

Wee said to revive the industry, first, the domestic segment needs to be centered.

"It's about having the regions linked. Flights to Sabah and Sarawak must be resumed as we agreed to supply goods, "he said.

Meanwhile, Wee said his ministry is currently in talks with the Ministry of Finance to resolve the case on the issue of school bus operators not identified under the Bantuan Prihatin National help.
