VIETNAM:

The Vietnam Airline flag carrier resumed total domestic operations with domestic passenger flights on 29 May up by 36 percent year-on-year to more than 300.

On 29 May the overall number of freight and passenger flights was almost equal to that of over 350 on the same day in 2019.

A company spokesperson said this was an optimistic indication that Vietnam Airlines and domestic airline companies in particular were improving significantly.

With good control of COVID-19 in the country, the number of domestic passengers has increased rapidly again. Vietnam Airlines has transported more than 500,000 domestic passengers since the social distancing order was eased on the 23 April.

In mid-May, for passengers to meet growing travel demand, Vietnam Airlines introduced five domestic routes to common tourist destinations nationwide. In June, it plans to open six more domestic routes to complete its national air route network.

As approved by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, the organization has also strictly followed preventive regulations and guidance on diseases in all its battles.
