The 12th Latin American Festival, which will highlight the multi-ethnic and cultural diversity of Latin America and the Caribbean, will be held online for the very first time.
The two-day cultural festival, beginning at 5 p.m., will feature video shows of the continent's food, music, arts and craft, heritage and culture, Peruvian ambassador to Malaysia Guido F. Loayza said.
“This year’s Latin American Festival will be very different, being held online due to the restrictions imposed because of COVID-19,” he said.
The Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay will take part in the event jointly organized by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) in partnership with Plaza Low Yat, the Latin Women's Association of Malaysia, and supported by Kuala Lumpur City Hall ( DBKL) and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).
“The festival is a good opportunity to renovate the Malaysia-Latin America countries' friendship besides bringing the continent’s rich culture closer to Malaysian people,” said the ambassador, who is representing GRULAC embassies in Malaysia.
