PENANG:

There will be a total of 200,000 tourists expected to visit Penang Hill until the end of the year following the reopening of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period in various economic sectors.

Datuk Cheok Lay Leng, General Manager of Penang Hill Corporation (PHC), said that numerous exciting activities are awaiting visitors with Penang Hill reopening beginning yesterday.

“Although our country’s borders are still closed, we strongly encourage domestic tourists to come and visit Penang Hill on weekends or public holidays,” he said after observing the reopening of Penang Hill.

For now, Cheok stated that each funicular train coach could accommodate only 30 passengers at a time compared to 100 people previously, this is in compliance with the standard operational procedures (SOPs) set under RMCO.
