57 puppeteers to perform at Rainforest World Puppet Carnival 2019

Fifty-seven puppeteers from 17 countries will be performing at the 3rd edition of the Rainforest World Puppet Carnival 2019 which has already begun from November 11 and will continue till November 16 at the Auditorium, Old Courthouse, Kuching.

These six days event will showcase unique talents and performances by puppeteers from countries including Korea, Albania, Brazil, Philippines, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Peru, India, Turkey, China, Romania, Australia, Vietnam, Russia, Argentina, Mexico, and Malaysia.

Other than performances, visitors can participate in a puppetry workshop and learn more about puppetry conducted by international puppeteers.

The event is a joined collaboration between World Arts Convention together with Society for Arts and Handicraft Sarawak (SAHSA).

The highlight of the carnival would be an attempt to make it into the Malaysia Book of Records for the Highest Number of Puppeteers in a Single Puppet Parade category, which will be held at the boulevard in front of Kuching South City Council building on Nov 16 (Saturday).
