Penang:

The Malaysia Gold & Jewellery Expo (MGJE) 2025, set to be held in Penang, marks a defining moment in the nation’s journey toward becoming a global leader in the gold and jewellery sector.

Organised by the Penang Wholesalers and Goldsmiths Association (PWGS) and co-hosted by the Malaysia Gold Association (MGA), this year’s event signifies an evolution from its roots as the PWGS Gold Expo into a national showcase with international ambition. MGJE now stands as a symbol of Malaysia’s strategic push to secure a place among the world’s top ten gold and jewellery exporters.

Spanning 4,500 square meters and hosting 150 exhibitors, MGJE 2025 expects to welcome over 10,000 visitors. The event will feature an array of offerings, from high-tech manufacturing innovations to intricate artisanal jewellery pieces. More than an exhibition, MGJE serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, brand elevation, industry collaboration, and market revitalization.

Among the highlights is the MGJE Raffle Draw, offering visitors a chance to win cash vouchers, gold plates, and exclusive jewellery through interactive experiences such as social media contests and on-site lucky draws. The spotlight will also shine on Tian Si Jewellery, which will enter the Malaysia Book of Records for launching the country’s first 999 pure gold watch collection as the exclusive distributor of the HIPINE gold watch brand.

A key feature this year is the Women Entrepreneurs Forum, showcasing female leaders in a traditionally male-dominated industry. This dynamic session—featuring fashion brand Doublewoot—will explore the intersection of business, creativity, and resilience in the world of jewellery and fashion entrepreneurship.

With Penang and Seberang Perai contributing roughly 80% of Malaysia’s gold production, MGJE honours the region’s deep-rooted legacy while looking toward a future defined by innovation and international reach.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia, gold-related exports in Q1 2025 reached RM2.34 billion—a 9.76% increase from the same period in 2024—reflecting the sector’s resilience amidst global economic shifts.

Backed by key government agencies and industry stakeholders including PETACE, PCEB, MyCEB, MATRADE, and the Federation of Goldsmiths and Jewellers Associations of Malaysia, MGJE 2025 is poised to drive industry growth and elevate Malaysia’s standing on the global stage.

MGJE 2025 opens its doors as a beacon of opportunity, blending heritage with forward-thinking ambition. It not only celebrates the country’s gold craftsmanship but also signals Malaysia’s bold entry into a glittering global future.
