Two investors including a company from China are known to be interested in taking over Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), which closed on January 28.
Perak Regional Investment, Industry and Development Executive Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said apart from a foreign company, a local company with overseas partners was also keen to take over the theme park.
"There are at least two domestic and foreign investors interested. When we recommend them we have a theme park, they say they want to study.
"The closure of MAPS does not affect the investment climate in Perak but it has led us to look for a more stable and profitable outlet for the government," he told reporters after visiting Dem Draexlmaier Automotive (M) Sdn Bhd, Chemor here today.
On January 28, The Receiver and Manager Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd (ATP) of Messrs Ernst & Young announced that the MAPS was closed with a notice issued.
