Kuala Lumpur:

Visitors today at Central Market Kuala Lumpur were welcomed at Central Market Kuala Lumpur’s main entrance by energetic Acrobatic Lion dance to usher in Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration in January 25.

The air was filled with spirited drum beats along with exciting cheers from the crowd upon witnessing mesmerizing movements and breathtaking stunts as the lion dancers bounced across poles of different heights in the symbolism of inviting prosperity, fortune, and auspiciousness.

Cheong Wai Mun, the complex manager of Central Market Kuala Lumpur said, “Lion dance is one of the customs synonymous to the Malaysian Chinese community in celebrating new beginnings and other joyous occasions”.

“As a cultural hub, we are proud to share this tradition with our visitors as we usher in the new year, in hoping to spread bountiful blessings and auspiciousness with our guests”.

In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, Central Market Kuala Lumpur has lined up an array of activities for every weekend throughout the CNY and interactive walkabouts featuring auspicious characters like Big Head Buddha and Fu Lu Shou Mascots.
