The 2019 Malaysian 4x4 Mega Jamboree program which will take place here next month together with the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 is anticipated to bring together around 1,000 four-wheel (4WD) vehicles from around the country and Thailand respectively.
The program will take place in Taman Jubilee, Suka Menanti, from 20 to 22 December, jointly coordinated by Forward Kedah, NGO, and the Alor Setar City Council.
The program aims to bring together 4WD enthusiasts and also as a platform to promote tourism in the town, says Khairil Hanafi, the Chairman Kedah.
"This program also involves charitable activities including car driving, travel searching, car shows, urban trial challenges and kids leisure activities for participants and tourists," Ahmad Husni Basri, Tourism Malaysia's northern regional Director after the release of the programme's program told the reporters.
He predicted that more than 20 000 people would participate in the three-day event, and the public would visit the showroom which offers various products and services related to vehicles, according to Khairil.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Ahmad Husni stated, it has been shown that motorsports are more attractive to the public and that he hopes to see more young people organize such programmes.
"If possible, we shall extend this programme, because of our motorsport allotments as well as promotional activities that enable visitors to come in Malaysia in the course of their visit in 2020, to become one of the events of the state government."
