Citrawarna is a festival organised annually by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia which incorporate a variety of components including street performances, dance routines and cultural representations. It is typically a 1-day festival held in Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur and organised by MOTAC.

Annually, in the mid-year this festival takes places and the dates are never confirmed in advance. The dates are decided prior to the festival where the tourists and locals can enjoy the one-day festival called Citrawarna which basically means colours of Malaysia.  This year it was held on 1st September and a lot of footfall and crowd was seen to be accomplished.

. It starts around 5 pm and lasts until midnight. During this festival over 7,000 participants, consisting of school students, public and private higher education institutions, local cultural organizations and non-governmental organizations showcase everything Malaysia has to offer. The festival attracts around 100,000 spectators

Citrawarna was first introduced in 1999 to promote and celebrate Malaysia’s arts, heritage, nature and culture as well as all the best that Malaysia could offer through a spectacular night of lights & sound, dance and fireworks.
