MALAYSIA:

The Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Travel Fair 2019 was officiated by Tourism Malaysia DG Datuk Musa Yusof at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. It was a three-day event held from Nov 1 to 3, 2019. A total of 30 tour operators and product owners took part in selling 100% domestic packages in this travel fair which was estimated to generate total sales of RM1 million.

The exhibitors who were invited to participate in this program consisted of industry players such as travel agencies, tour operators and hoteliers who sold attractive packages that included tours to various destinations in Malaysia.

The travel fair was held as part of Tourism Malaysia’s ongoing effort to stimulate growth in the domestic tourism industry, as well as to increase the awareness of local tourism products in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign.

Musa during the press conference for the program said: “We would like to attract Malaysians, especially the locals residing in Putrajaya and the Klang Valley to take this opportunity to select the best domestic packages offered at very reasonable prices,”.

Through a special scheme, the visitors who bought packages with a minimum value of RM500 were entitled to redeem exclusive merchandise from Tourism Malaysia. This was done to encourage the purchases during this program. The visitors also got the chance to meet many local celebrities such as Alif Satar, Zahirah Macwilson, Marsha Milan, Izzue Islam and Adeline Tsen who were present to promote the event.

Musa said that the program was organized with a clear objective and hope to help increase domestic trips which will stimulate the growth of the domestic tourism industry of Malaysia.
