Late Wednesday, the Nigerian government said that domestic flights will soon resume after weeks of restrictions to curb the COVID 19 pandemic.
In a tweet, Air Minister Hadi Sirika announced that flight operations at Abuja and Lagos airports will be resumed only on 8 July, while other airports will resume operations between 11 and 15 July.
"The date for international flights to be announced in due course. Bear with us," the Nigerian official tweeted.
As part of the steps to combat the pandemic, the Nigerian government shut down commercial airports for flight operations on 23 March.
The government had considered reopening the airports twice but ended up with wider consultations.
