INDONESIA:

Indonesian's national airline Garuda Indonesia is planning to turn its fleet into a wedding destination for couples following a unique celebration. Speaking to reporters on October 12, Garuda Airline's president director Ari Askhara said, "We're currently in talks with several wedding organizers. We will offer interesting packages, and we won't be looking for a profit in the beginning. We'll prioritize giving a new experience and product."

The airline has also decorated and embellished the in-flight concerts for creating the wedding look and feel for people to experience the ambiance similarly. The airlines are going fully booked despite the tickets being costlier than regular airfare just because of the unique experience and out of the box idea that Garuda Indonesia has come out with.

The plan for in-flight weddings is still uncertain and up in the air though, as there are still several factors to consider before making the entire thing official. Askhara highlights "When it comes to a wedding ceremony, the date and location need to be very clear for administrative purposes and we are working on it.” It is believed that the entire wedding package could be a hit among upper-middle-class millennial passengers because of the unique appearance, he also noted that there's a possibility of regular ticket prices charged per wedding guest, or that the service would only be available on chartered flights.

After a few hits-and-misses with experimental onboard services such as serving meals from fast-food chain Hoka Hoka Bento and inflight musical performances ?— Indonesian flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia’s planes may well become wedding venues as it will be a different experience altogether for passengers.
