Gear up for Malaysia's Year End Sale 2019

Starting from 1 October to 31 December 2019 is the much-anticipated Malaysia Year End Sale for the year 2019. Gear up and line up your shopping bags as this is about to bring more exciting deals and discounts up for grabs. In conjunction with the campaign, The Miss SHOPhia Shopping Hunt 3.0 which took place on 15 September 2019 was organised by Tourism Malaysia.

One of the main objectives of the Hunt is to increase awareness and to promote the Malaysia Year End Sale Campaign, and to highlight the Shopping Icon, Miss SHOPhia. This time around, the program is also promoting the use of public transportation such as the LRT and MRT along the routes of the participating malls as well as the convenience of using e-hailing services through the shopping malls.

Besides promoting the Malaysia Year End Sale, the Shopping Hunt also aims to create greater awareness and promote the Visit Malaysia 2020 Campaign launched by our Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamed in July 2019. This campaign will garner more tourists and receipts for Malaysia from all over the world to experience the uniqueness and beauty of Malaysia’s ecotourism attractions including our rainforests, mountains, islands and beaches, as well as city attractions & shopping destination.

Through Tourism Malaysia offices in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, a special Miss SHOPhia Shopping Hunt 3.0 tour packages of 3D2N and 4D3N was created and promoted via our selected Tour Operators in the respective market. Packages range from RM500.00 – RM1,200.00 including accommodation and air flight tickets.

Talking about this year, total teams participating in this are above 100 consists of 400 pax, comprising of members of the public, International Package Buyers from Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia, and a combination of international and local media. The Hunt was flagged off by the Deputy Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, Mr Zulkifly Md Said, from the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex in Jalan Conlay, and ended at 1-Utama Shopping Centre, where the prize-giving ceremony was presented by Director General of Tourism Malaysia, YBhg. Datuk Musa Hj. Yusof.

Side event activities at the Finale Venue, One Utama Shopping Mall, include buskers, spa and craft demonstration, Miss SHOPhia Wheel of Fortune, local artist performances, and lucky draws. Among the sponsors are Perbadanan Kemajuan Kraftangan Malaysia, 1Utama Shopping Centre, Malaysia Airlines Berhad, e-Wallet : BOOST, U-Mobile, Contra Enterprise Sdn Bhd as well as of major malls in Kuala Lumpur such as Sungei Wang Plaza, Lot10, Sogo KL, Quill City Mall, Suria KLCC, Pavilion KL,Plaza Low Yat, Sunway Putra Mall, and Central Market.
