Jakarta :

The Frankfurt Book Fair has teamed up with the Tujuhbelasribu Pulau Imaji Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works to improve the quality of literary and creative content in Indonesia, to host a one-week content exhibition called Jakarta Content Con/Week in November.

The upcoming event seeks to provide the opportunity for content producers in book publishing, games, films and the culinary industry to showcase their work as well as establish business-to-business cooperation with relevant parties.

Jakarta Content Con/Week will feature a variety of activities, including the Rights Market for content holders, a conference on the business of creative content, a literary programme, a B2B and B2C film festival, workshops, seminars, talk shows and more.

Frankfurt Book Fair president Juergen Boos said, “Since 2015, Indonesia has been working so well in presenting Indonesian content to the world and has become an important player in the international publishing community.”

He added that the creative industries in South-East Asian countries, including Indonesia, were currently growing.

“We are excited to create a new marketplace for the trade of publishing and content rights in South-East Asia, in Jakarta, and hope to bring even more players from the region to the international table.”

Laura Prinsloo of the Tujuhbelasribu Pulau Imaji Foundation said the collaboration was a big step forward in the development of Indonesia’s creative industry, adding that the foundation aimed to make Jakarta Content Con/Week a major event and to become a centre for content industry meetings in the South-East Asia region.
