COLOMBO :

In a statement, the presidential secretariat announced that the Sri Lankan Government decided to extend the closure of the arrival terminal at the Katnayake Colombo International Airport to prevent entry to the country of new cases of coronavirus.

This will continue to service the departure terminal. The departure passengers are also eligible for flights into the country.

For the time being, all passenger transit operations have been suspended.

The ports will continue without interruption both import and export operations.

In order to prevent passengers from entering the countries from ports, the Port Authority must continue to implement steps taken.

Such controls were agreed on by the Government until the country returned to normality.
