Khai Bahar to perform at Istana Budaya

Popular singer Khai Bahar, whose real name is Muhammad Khairul Baharuddin, will be performing his first solo concert at Istana Budaya in March.

The concert, "Khai Bahar: Dari Smule ke Pentas Dunia" (Khai Bahar: From Smule to World Stage) will be held for two days, on March 27 and March 28 and will be produced by Ogy Ventures.

Khai, who shot to fame through the Smule application said he would sing 20 songs, including his own compositions and hoped the concert would inspire Smule app singers to showcase their talents to the world.

Popular for songs like ‘Luluh’ and ‘Ratuku’, Khai was selected by Istana Budaya.

Istana Budaya director-general Datuk Mohamed Juhari Shaarani said the concert was part of efforts to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2020 (VM2020) to Khai Bahar’s fans not only in Malaysia, but also Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and other Asian countries.

"We really want to get young fans involved in VM2020 programmes like this concert and we are very confident that Khai Bahar’s international fans especially from Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and southern Thailand will come and watch this concert," he said.
