The Kiawayan Dance Club of SK Kiawayan made Malaysia proud at the World Championship at the 2019 Istanbul Folk Music – Chorus Competition and the Istanbul Harmanfolk Culture Competition in Istanbul.

The team also won the category for Children's Folk Dance. The achievement of all concerned was due to the hard work and commitment of his headmasters, Geoffery Joseph @ Chong Lip Kok.

There were a total of 14 dance troops from eight nations, including the Malaysian Kiawayan Dance Club.

There were four categories namely Children Modern Dance, Children Folk Dance, Adult Folk Dance, and Adult Chorus Group.

It was one of the programs organized by the Organizasyen Harmanfolk Festival this year, which was attended by 40 countries.

In July of this year, Kiawayan Dance Club won Silver at the International Folklore Dance that defeated Thailand, India, Indonesia, and Sek2 of Perak.
