Malaysia took part in 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum

In 2023, the delegation from Malaysia to the ASEAN Tourism Forum in comes with an aim to combine efforts with all ASEAN counterparts for tourism revival in the region. Malaysia is all prepared to renew tourism as well as regenerate its doors to foreign travellers.


Tourism, Arts & Culture Minister, H.E Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing is managing the Malaysian team to this largest tourism trade event in Southeast Asia. He was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dato’ Saraya Arbi, and the Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Zainuddin Abdul Wahab.


H.E Minister took part in the 26th ASEAN Tourism Ministers meeting, along with the 22nd ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Meeting’s Meeting. The ATF 2023 and its official opening ceremony were on 3rd January 2023 at the historical Prambanan Temple, it was inaugurated by the H.E Indonesian President, Ir. Joko Widodo. Representatives from Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, Sarawak Tourism Board and Malaysia Airlines (MAS), joined the Malaysian delegation.


ATF 2023 covered two simultaneous events. The names were the Ministerial and Bilateral meetings in the Marriot hotel, as the TRAVEX was in the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) which acts as a stage for ASEAN tourism products and services suppliers and qualified buyers worldwide to meet through appointments which are pre-scheduled. Both meeting and travel fair is expected to increase ASEAN tourism business and bilateral understanding at the highest level.
