MALAYSIA:

Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, the minister of tourism, the arts, and culture, revealed yesterday that RM2.7 million worth of e-vouchers has been set aside for Malaysians to use online to book domestic flights. Up until the end of 2022, 45,879 Malaysians may redeem the e-vouchers, which range in value from RM25 to RM100.

The e-vouchers are a component of the Tourism Recovery Plan (PRE 2.0) for the airport transportation cluster, according to the national news agency Bernama. Additionally, redemptions are permitted through five airlines, including Malaysia Airlines (RM100 vouchers for 10,000 passengers), AirAsia (RM50 vouchers for 23,879 passengers), Batik Air (RM50 vouchers for 4,000 passengers), Firefly (RM50 vouchers for 4,000 passengers), and MASWings (RM50 vouchers for 4,000 passengers) (RM25 vouchers for 4,000 travelers).

The primary goal of PRE 2.0, a continuation of PRE 1.0 from 2020, is to provide incentives to Malaysians in the form of discounts, coupons, and refunds. Following the land transportation cluster, the tourism association cluster, and the special interest tourism cluster, it will also offer coupons and rebates. As of 30 June 2022, 15,467 Malaysians had purchased land transportation tickets under the latter, and 12,540 Malaysians had benefited from the program by purchasing domestic travel packages.

Malaysians need to go to the official websites of the five airlines and follow their specific instructions to claim the domestic flight ticket e-vouchers. Keep checking their respective official websites to stay updated as AirAsia and Batik Air have not yet disclosed the steps to claim their RM50 e-vouchers as of the time of writing.
