Penang allows all sectors and activities permitted by the federal government to operate

PENANG:

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has announced from today, all sectors and activities permitted by the Federal Government will be possible to operate in Penang again in compliance with the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

Chow said it was decided at the state Special Security Committee meeting chaired by him in a COVID-19 live Facebook message.

Penang will enter the initial stage of the Penang Gradual Recovery Strategy (PGRS) from tomorrow 13 May. The Federal government in Penang will allow all sectors and activities under the CMCO, "he said.

However, as stated by the Federal Government, the list of banned activities remained.

He said restaurants with hotels, supermarkets, and fast-food franchises will be allowed to join in phases beginning on Friday. The local authorities will announce guidelines for the implementation today (May 13).
