Penang coastal run postponed due to coronavirus outbreak

Experience Penang Coastal Run 2020 will be postponed after receiving feedback from the participants.

The Penang State EXCO for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage (PETACH) Chairman YB Yeoh Soon Hin said the running event originally scheduled this March 15 will be postponed to the second half of the year.

“There are many foreign participants who have registered for the event, and we received many requests for the event to be rescheduled.

“At the same time, we would like to ensure a safe and conducive environment for everyone to participate in,” he said in a statement today.

He said the new date will be announced once the situation improves for Covid-19 (Novel Coronavirus) outbreak.

“The participants can check out Experience Penang Coastal Run 2020 Facebook event page for the latest updates which will be posted there to keep the participants updated on the new date,” he said.

The inaugural Experience Penang Coastal Run 2020 consists of three (3) categories namely 11.5km Fun Run category for individuals and 5km Fun Run individual category and 5km Family Fun Run category.
