Penang International Travel Exchange has returned with its second edition

This year Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE)  has returned bigger and better with its second edition with a comprehensive range of buyers, PITE is a programme specifically owned by Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB).

The 5 days programme is scheduled from 8 - 12 October, Penang will welcome 80 buyers from 11 countries, including India, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, US and the Middle East in one destination i.e Penang. The press conference marked the presence of CEO of PCEB, Ashwin Gunasekeran, YB Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State Executive Council for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage along with the partners for PITE.

Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of PCEB, in the press conference addressed “PITE is a programme initiated with a vision to further expose Penang’s best qualities in enhancing buyers’ and the media’s experiences. Throughout 5 days next week, the Business Events Penang industry is committed to provide them first-hand involvement in the various activities and events that we have in store. With PITE, we hope to continue growing the number of events held in Penang and the economic impact of business events to Penang,”

 Honourable Mr Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism, Arts, Culture & Heritage chaired the pre- show press conference today and said “PITE consists of a well-curated itinerary where it sees hosted buyers being paired up with sellers though a B2B session for Malaysian business events and tourism suppliers to showcase their products and services to the hosted buyers and media,”

The entire programme will be quite interesting and engaging as there will be be networking events in the form of a heritage hunt around Penang, buyers and the media will be exposed to the various products in Penang through B2B sessions and outdoor familiarisation trips with Penang’s business events industry players. A half day forum is also scheduled with different speakers across the travel industry.

The programme is organised by Penang-based Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) Apollo Conferences, which shall also host an exciting gala dinner within the itinerary enhancing engagement between the sellers and participants.
