Penang launches "Penang Responsible Tourism campaign"

In order to allow tourists to comply with the Standard Operating Procedure ( SOP) of COVID-19 which is developed to protect them and others, the Government of Penang launched a Penang Responsible Tourism campaign.

State Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow said this is the first campaign in Malaysia but the Standard Operating Procedure ( SOP) is the same as the federal government.

Meanwhile, State Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman, Yeoh Soon Hin, said that the state is doing their part to remind all the tourist who's coming to Penang to be safe and to follow the  Standard Operating Procedure ( SOP) that has been implemented.

" All these are fundamentally responsible that has to be followed by the people and the only added responsible in this campaign is to seek medical attention if you have any symptoms besides practicing social distancing, sanitising hands and wearing a mask," he said.

The event was officiated by the Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Covid-19 Safety Accreditation certificates were given to 10 hotels and a shopping mall for their adherence to stringent hygiene and safety standards that ensure the health and safety of the public.

Also present were Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director, Ahmad Basri, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture State Director, Jonathan Freddy and Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau Chief Executive Officer, Ashwin Gunasekaran.
