BALIK PULAU :

Persatuan Kebajikan Hotelier Malaysia (PHM) yesterday hosted a charity dinner to raise funds for the needy and a group of chefs and hoteliers in overseas.

Its advisor Wilson Lum said that this event was organized due to their unexpected " extended" stay in Penang due to the impact of Covid-19.

“About 40 of us came to Penang before the movement control order (MCO) and we are unable to travel back to China due to the travel restrictions.

“Since we are unable to return to China, we decide to do something good for the needy people in Penang.”

Lum said the PHM organized the charitable gala night together with the Penang Chef's Association Malaysia to raise funds for three charitable homes.

18 corporate friends of PHM helped to raise the fund which amounted to RM 15,000. The organizers would be giving away RM5,000 worth of provisions to each charity home.

A series of durian flavored dishes were presented to the guest as the theme of the event was ‘Master Devils Chef with Angels of Duris’ at  Bukit Genting Hill Leisure Park located at about 750m above sea level.
