Promoting Langkawi as a safe tourist destination will be carried out soon

 In order to reduce the effects of COVID-19 in the tourism industry,  Langkawi will be promoted as as a healthy tourist destination .

The President of Tourism, Ahmad Phisol Ishak, said that in their discussions today the change included over 20 suggestions made by the industry players.

"We wish to make Langkawi a good place with many tourists at the beach and at restaurants, and indeed, during the school holiday, we see more local visitors to Langkawi.

"We have formed a working group to evaluate all proposals. After that, we are going to bring the papers from the proposal to the attention of the state and ministry authorities, "he told reporters today after a discussion on tourism promotion in Langkawi.

The discussion involving tourism operators such as hotel owners, tourism companies, tourist drivers and LADA members decided to introduce several ideas, including discounts for lodging, car rental and entrance tickets and improved digital marketing and collaboration with banks on restructuring and reprogramming loans.

The authority cooperates with duty-free shops, tourism commodity and hospitality operators to launch the 2020 Great Sale in Langkawi from 13 March to 12 May, according to LADA Tourism Manager Mohd Azmil Bukhari.

The e-launch of Langkawi Great Sale 2020 will take place on Wednesday (March 18), said Azmil, said the domestic tourists have a price cut of up to 70 percent on products such as crockery, chocolate, room booking as well as attract other deals.
