SABAH:

Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, Sabah's chief minister will have the State Immigration Division clarifying the matter of Chinese tourists bypassing document inspection at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) Immigration counters.

He said detailed information was necessary to improve the situation.

"I'm going to ask the Department of Immigration to make clear what's happening," he said.

He addressed the media report that Chinese tourists were detained after they noticed that, upon their arrival in the state, they couldn't get their documents stamped with immigration through KKIA.

The first incident was reported on 10 December last year when the authorities found their travel documents without the entry stamp at Tawau Airport detained 4 Chinese women.

About three Chinese nationals were arrested yesterday at the same airport for the same matter.
