Sarawak first reality virtual theme park is now open to the public

The RM13 million D-Reality Park is now open to the public, but with reduced capacity, this is the first Virtual reality theme park to be located in Borneo, Jalan Meranek.

According to Serba Dinamik Group Bhd group managing director Datuk Dr. Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah,  the move complied with health and safety policies implemented by the government under the  Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

“Visitor numbers are massively scaled back from what we would have anticipated pre-lockdown. However, we will reopen with a raft of new health and safety measures for guests,” he said.

Under the procedures, visitors are required to wear a face mask upon their arrival and practice social distancing wear masks while staff at the park handle the crowd when walking, queuing, and at the cafe.

"Guests will need to book tickets in advance to avoid queues at the entrance and before entering the park and a QR code will need to be scanned for contact tracing," he said.

D-Virtual Park operates in nine blocks of 3-story constructions and offers around 10 VR experiences and the VR elevation D'Luxe is one of the most famous ones.

Other rides include VR Speed Cruiser, VR Quad Squad, VR Gyrate, VR D'Battleship, VR Knight Rider, VR Giant Slide, VR Trekker, and VR Gatling Gun, and Enchanted Chamber.

The public can also experience the most innovative type of cinematical witnesses, such as the E-Sports Arena, and a custom Hologram Theater.

The park also has SD X Studio, SD X FabLab, SDX-Arena, GiGA Virtual-Cafe, and D-Tamu, and is aimed at guests aged between 15 and 45. Between 10 am to 10 pm, the park is open for the public.
