KOTA KINABALU :

One of the major resort in the city has ask its employees to go on a three-month unpaid leave starting from 1st April as a result of cost saving measuring due to the covid-19 outbreak.

The resort is carrying out this in line with its internal circular, which will impact workers with a monthly salary of RM 1,400 and below, under its Employee Retention Plan (ERP).

The resort was officially closed because of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and its staff, including their sales and marketing department, are operating from home.

One of the circular from the resort claimed that there is no alternative but to take cost-cutting steps to remain viable and retain employment in the end.

It also claimed that management of the resort would help request the workers for government funding of RM 600 under the ERP and will re-establish wages as soon as the wellbeing and business conditions improve.
