MALAYSIA:

From August 21 to August 27, 2022, Tourism Malaysia will travel to Australia as part of a roadshow to reestablish contact and forge new alliances with travel industry partners to improve opportunities to increase visitor arrivals to Malaysia.

The delegation, which is led by Mr. Noor Azlan Abu Bakar, Senior Deputy Director, International Promotion Division (Americas, Europe, & Oceania), Tourism Malaysia, consists of the tourism boards from the states of Pahang and Sabah, five travel agencies, hoteliers, and two representatives from the medical tourism sector.

In the cities of Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, Malaysian merchants, and Australian buyers will take part in the travel mart session, destination presentation, and networking dinner. Malaysia Airlines is assisting Tourism Malaysia in organizing the roadshow.

We are thrilled to resume networking after a two-year break to increase interest in visiting Malaysia, according to Mr. Noor Azlan. Through this roadshow, Malaysian partners can showcase their most recent products, and we look forward to growing our business ties with our Australian colleagues.

Australia continues to be a crucial market for Malaysia. A total of 368,281 Australian travelers arrived in Malaysia in 2019; more than 80% of them came for vacations.

For travelers who are completely immunized and do not need to go through quarantine or pre-departure or on-arrival COVID-19 tests, including minors under the age of 17, Malaysia has loosened the admission criteria.

Mr. Noor Azlan said, "We are delighted to resume networking after a two-year gap to enhance interest in visiting Malaysia." Our business relationships with our Australian counterparts will strengthen as a result of this roadshow, which will allow our Malaysian partners to present their most recent products.

Australia will always be a significant market for Malaysia. Over 80% of the 368,281 Australian visitors that landed in Malaysia in 2019 came for vacations.

Malaysia has eased the requirements for entry for travelers who are fully immunized and do not require quarantine, pre-departure, or on-arrival COVID-19 testing, including kids under the age of 17.
