KUALA LUMPUR:

Following the announcement of the lifting of the CMCO in several states on Monday, the standard operating processes (SOP) for the tourism sectors and the Work From Home Direction (WFH) will be reviewed.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob said the matter would be reviewed since the government also decided to allow inter-state movement without police permission from 7 Dec.
He said more discussions needed to define permitted tourism activities for the tourism sector which includes economic and social activities.

"Although inter-state travel is allowed, there are some areas still under the CMCO, including tourist destinations, and social activities are prohibited in CMCO areas.

“For example, the Zoo Negara may be opened because it is in an open area but because it is still in the CMCO region, social activities are not allowed. The National Security Council (NSC) will discuss with the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry for a list of activities that are permitted and prohibited,” he said at a press conference at Wisma Pertahanan

In regards to the usage of facial shields in public areas, he noted that only school students have been permitted to reduce the burden for parents beforehand.

However the issue is discussed with the Ministry of Health whether people are willing to wear face shields in public without face masks.
