MALAYSIA:

A major new initiative to inspire people to travel again has been united between the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the CNN International.

The initiative # TravelTomorrow combines the central message of the specialist agency of the United Nations with broadcaster innovation and aims for a better future for global tourism and the industry for its livelihoods.

UNWTO has emphasized the importance of public health as the first thing ever since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic which brought the world to a standstill.

The message "Stay Home Today to # Travel Tomorrow" has been enhanced by governments and individual travelers all around the world.

Now that many locations seek to reduce travel restrictions, UNWTO has partnered with CNN to develop a 60-second film that commemorates the unique power that tourism has to inspire and unite people.

UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili said: “In these challenging times we must all play our part - staying home today, supporting the efforts of the global healthcare community in combating COVID-19 so that we can #TravelTomorrow. But this does not mean we should stop dreaming about the places we will one day travel to. I am excited by this new initiative created by CNN, a valued partner of the UNWTO, to keep the world connected to the people and places that wait for us when we can once again enjoy the gift of travel - a sector that will  be critical to global economic recovery, unity and opportunity.”

The film, which will be shown on CNN International and its social media, is reinforced by UNWTO's own media channels and brings viewers around the world to remember the wonders of their surroundings. # TravelTomorrow aims at fantasizing future trips that include adventure, business, culture, friends and the family.

It also promotes solidarity and stresses the importance of the World Health Organization ( WHO ) guidelines for all tourists.
