HANOI:

Hanoi plans to offer free Wi-Fi in the tourist attractions of 4 districts and 1 city.

The Municipal Department of Information and Communication requested that the Vietnam Post and telecommunications Office (VNPT), the Ha Dong and the city of Son Tay town in a document sent to the relevant authorities, set up a free public Wi-Fi network in tourist areas in the urban areas of Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh and Tay ho.

The department has recommended that the Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports and local People's Committees collaborate with VNPT to ensure success in implementing free public wireless internet systems.

Previously, in 2017, the city began offering free Wi-Fi access around popular attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the Thang Long historic site's Imperial Citadel, Huong (Perfume) Pagoda, and Bat Trang Ceramic Art Village.
