For the very first time in Asia, The World Seafood Congress just pioneered today morning with Penang and Malaysia being their selected destination. With the inauguration and welcome ceremony, it is embarking the first day of their commencement at Setia SPICE Convention. The World Seafood Congress is an annual event bringing together seafood industry players and seafood supply chain innovation and technologies from more than 75 countries under one roof.
With the gradual commencement, the guests were welcomed by localhost Dato’ Dr Ooi Kee Beng. The ceremony has marked the presence of many prominent personalities across the nation. To name a few, we embarked the presence of President IAFI- International Association of Fish Inspectors Mark Boulter, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Argo-based Industry-Honourable Sim Tze Tzin and Penang Chief Minister-Honourable Chow Kon Yeow.
This 3-day event from September 9-11, features the latest trends in the seafood industry. The major issues that will be highlighted and will be brought at the forefront of the agenda include what industry 4.0 means for sea-food sector, nurturing future global seafood leaders and finding the right balance between business profitability and resource sustainability.
Inspirational entrepreneurs and researchers from across the globe have marked their presence and will be taking part in the discussion.
The event is supported by the Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau and organised by the Penang Institute.
