At the conclusion of the World Travel & Tourism Council's (WTTC) Global Summit, the world's leading private and public sector tourism leaders took a united stand to safely resume international travel.

They used the prestigious forum to share their experiences from the previous 12 devastating months that had ravaged the Travel & Tourism sector, and to discuss how they could safely restart international travel together, while looking forward to an even more sustainable and inclusive future for the sector.

Arnold Donald, President and CEO of Carnival Corporation, was also named as the new chair of WTTC, which represents the global private travel and tourism sector, at the Global Summit.

After three successful years at the helm of WTTC, Donald took over as outgoing chairman Chris Nassetta, Hilton's CEO and CEO.

Following the great achievement of the Cancun Global Summit on three days, WTTC will host its next Global Summit and announce the date for the World Summit in Manila, capital city of the Philippines.

Together in Mexico, hundreds of the world's top business leaders, ministers and key decision-makers from across the world's travel sector discussed the way to recovery for the battled industry.

“WTTC brought together exceptional leaders from across the private and public sectors throughout Travel & Tourism at our Global Summit, united in their desire to safely revive international travel", said Gloria Guevara, WTTC president and CEO .

Our very presence here, shows that we can resume international travelling once more, by observing the latest health and safety protocols, which WTTC has helped develop for businesses large and small throughout the sector", she added.

First in the world, WTTC hosted the pandemic, which virtualizes tens of thousands more, while complying with high-profile protocols on health and hygiene.

All delegates who attended the summit during the course of the summit received regular tests to guarantee their security.
