EUROPE:

The 76th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Summit were postponed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The event will take place in Amsterdam on 22-23 June 2020.

A new deadline remains since IATA has confirmed that it plans to hit the end of the third or early fourth quarter of 2020.

"Our members face the greatest crisis the air travel industry which has ever experienced," said Alexandre de Juniac, Director-General, and CEO of IATA.

Many airlines are struggling to remain viable because most of the passenger business is grounded in the global battle to contain the virus.

On the cargo side, airlines do their best to ensure that global supply chains, including essential medical supplies, pass through crucial periods.

We will be joining as an industry once the free movement has been restored and we can focus on the vital role of air transport in driving this unprecedented crisis 'economic and social recovery, "he said.
