MALAYSIA:

Tourism Malaysia hosted a virtual Aidilfitri open house in Jakarta to improve relationships with media practitioners and tourism agencies.

Through the use of the Zoom application, the office welcomed visitors to their Aidilfitri Open House.

Aidilfitri dishes such as 'ketupat' and 'rendang,' as well as cookies, were delivered from Tourism Malaysia to their guests using e-transportation services Gojek before the opening day, so they could enjoy their dishes together during their open house via the app.

Tourism Malaysia Jakarta director, Roslan Othman said the Aidilfitri open house or ‘halal bihalal’ event was hosted by the agency there every year.

“However, the halal bihalal event hosted by Tourism Malaysia Jakarta this year is very different from previous years.  This is the first time it is being held virtually,” he said.

Twenty-eight local journalists and local tourism agency representatives as well as the deputy general manager, Zulkifly Md Said, who was at Putrajaya were also present at the virtual event.
