There will soon be a one-off aid to a total of 199 operators operating in the tourism sector in Terengganu impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ariffin Deraman, Chairman of the Terengganu Committee on Tourism, Culture and Information Technology, said that the industry comprises 48 peddlers, 17 passenger boat operators at Seberang Takir, 99 guides and 35 mountain guides in Dungun.

"Menteri Besar (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar) will announce the amount," he said.

In the meantime, Ariffin said the state government promotes subsectors of tourism like wellness, food and sports through "buy Now, travel later" on digital platforms.

The State Government is making an effort to revitalize the industry affected by the outbreak of COVID-19, he said.
