Singapore:

As alcohol consumption declines among young adults, Singapore’s bar scene is evolving with innovative offerings to engage Gen Z customers. According to a GlobalData survey, only 74% of Singaporeans now drink alcohol occasionally or regularly, down from 78% four years ago. The steepest drop is among men aged 25–34, where regular drinking fell from 35% in 2021 to 25% in 2025.

Despite this shift, Singapore’s bar industry remains cautiously optimistic. Bars are reinventing themselves through creative menus, such as the SingaPour Drink Tour featuring alcohol-free cocktails and snacks, and venues like Fura, known for low-carbon-footprint cocktails made with jellyfish and spirulina, and Bar Spectre, which hosts thought-provoking wellness workshops alongside drinks.

This trend is not just about avoiding alcohol; it’s about offering immersive, community-driven experiences that resonate with Gen Z’s values of authenticity, sustainability, and social connection. Eleven local bars have already earned spots in Asia’s Top 50 Bars 2024, showcasing Singapore’s potential as a trendsetting hub for innovative, experience-driven nightlife.
