Kuala Lumpur:

In a strategic move to strengthen the national tourism sector and raise service standards within the hospitality industry, the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is set to host the highly anticipated MAH Hospitality Week 2025 from 27 to 29 May at the Vivatel Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Billed as Malaysia’s premier hospitality trade show, the event reflects MAH’s continued commitment to bringing together key players under one roof — from hoteliers and suppliers to policymakers and professionals — with the shared goal of enhancing Malaysia’s competitiveness in global tourism.

With Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026 on the horizon, MAH Hospitality Week 2025 is timely and essential. The event is expected to serve as a national platform for industry stakeholders to address service gaps, explore innovation, and align best practices across the sector.

A Unified Platform for Industry Advancement

The three-day event will feature five major programmes, each curated to support different facets of the hospitality ecosystem:

  • Hospitality Suppliers Expo 2025 (27–28 May)

A comprehensive exhibition of products, services, and technological solutions designed to support hotel operations and elevate the guest experience.

  • Hospitality Leadership Conference 3.0 (28 May)

A gathering of industry leaders, government representatives, and academics to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and strategies for workforce development and sustainable tourism.

  • Signature VMY 2026 Mocktail Championship (27–28 May)

A creative competition aimed at showcasing Malaysia’s mixology talent while promoting inclusive, alcohol-free beverage culture in line with Malaysia’s diverse tourism appeal.

  • B2B Networking Event (28 May)

A business matchmaking initiative to stimulate partnerships and trade opportunities within the hospitality supply chain.

  • Annual General Meeting 2025 (29 May)

A formal session for MAH members to reflect on the past year’s developments and chart the path forward for the association and its members.

Driving National Standards in Hospitality

Speaking on the upcoming event, Oragnising Chairman Dato Khoo Boo Lim  stated that the initiative represents an effort to centralise the hospitality dialogue, ensuring all players are aligned in delivering world-class service. “It is crucial that as a nation, we approach the tourism industry as a collective. This event is about building a unified, resilient, and professional hospitality landscape,” he said.

The hospitality industry remains a critical pillar of Malaysia’s economy, contributing significantly to employment, international trade, and cultural diplomacy. As the country targets millions of international arrivals in 2026, the need for consistent and high-quality service across all levels of the hospitality value chain has never been more urgent.

MAH Hospitality Week 2025 is expected to draw widespread participation from across the country, including representatives from state tourism boards, hotel chains, educational institutions, and service providers.
