KUALA LUMPUR:

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) intends to contribute at least 10 percent of the revenue to its non-aeronautical segment on its e-commerce travel retail platform store, shopMYairports.

Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh, the group's Managing Director Datuk, said that in the next two to three years, the group will produce RM280 million in revenue from the MYairport.

In overall retail revenue last year and before being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport operator achieved RM2.8 billion.

Mohd Shukrie said MYairports is part of MAHB's Airports 4.0 strategy to enhance the passenger experience, particularly in the retail sector, and also part of their efforts to help retailers who have been adversely affected by the pandemic recovery.

He said 39 airports managed by MAHB nationwide will have access to the platform.

"The first phase of the shopMYairports will focus on domestic travellers and local home shoppers," he said after the launch of the shopMYairports platform by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong here yesterday.
